FOX ISLAND CABIN STYLE...
The Lawson's project started life as a waterfront vacation cabin in the 40's. Located on Fox Island in the Puget Sound, the same family owned it for about 50 years. Now that the two of the kids have gone off to college, Dawn and Mike decided it was time to downsize and move to the cabin.
We wanted to maintain as much of the charm of the original cabin as possible while expanding to meet the needs of a modern family. We were limited to two bedrooms due to the septic requirements. An additional "office" serves as a third bedroom/guest room. To finish it off a covered porch with a wood-burning fireplace provides a wonderful, warm protected space for all kinds of northwest weather.
The exterior has been carefully crafted to provide a complimentary addition to the old cabin without overwhelming the charm of the original portion. Shingles and river rock give a wonderful texture and remind us of the history of the home.
