PROSPECT HILL URBAN NATURAL...
The new owners of this aging 80’s home have a love for collecting Asian and African art, pottery making and gardening. This home needed a complete makeover to connect the home to the street in a more natural and pleasing way that incorporates a garden space.
Through our collaborative design process, we hit upon a connection to nature by shingling the entire home and designing metal trees to hold up the front porch. This brings a new form of art into the family.
The interior open plan was bland and uninteresting. We designed Asian inspired timber post & beam look that divided spaces without making solid enclosures. The open feeling and the interior detailing is so much more satisfying. We even brought the steel into the home in the form of a welcomimg I-beam with a timber archway at the entry.
